Ian Knox
Ian is an experienced executive with a proven background in establishing and creating shareholder wealth over 20 years. His history includes board representation with IFSA, experience as a non-executive director in a publicly listed company, executive board positions on publicly listed entities, chairmanship of several businesses inclusive of ASX responsible entity requirements, and a highly successful management period as the CEO of Sealcorp Holdings which included ASGARD Capital Management, Securitor Dealer Services and Assirt Research and Software. He is also a well regarded spokesperson on industry direction and is regularly used for facilitation and strategy planning with some of Australia’s largest Financial Service Companies.
He has held positions as Deputy Managing Director of Westpac Investment Management and was CEO of Lend Lease Investment Services.
Ian has a successful track record in strategy planning and execution within the wealth management industry. The areas of expertise include an intimate understanding of the platform market (master trusts and wraps), the information technology surrounding this industry, the research industry and distribution management of the third party independent financial planning market.
Ian launched Paragem Partners and is a founding director.
Charlie Haynes

Charlie is an experienced executive with a proven background in establishing and managing a business.
Having previously worked for Bankers Trust Australia and headed up the Financial Services and Wealth Management divisions of WorldGroup Consulting, most recently Charlie was Managing Director of FIS-AU, the Australian subsidiary of a funds management and life insurance software business.
Charlie has a successful track record in developing conceptual business propositions, defining and leading strategic business initiatives, recruiting and leading goal-oriented teams, and operational improvement through business process re-engineering and technology implementation.
Charlie is a founding director of Paragem Partners.
Michael Rowles

Michael has been leading compliance consulting teams since 1996, including THP and Kaplan. His knowledge of the industry covers new business, product development and management, operations, training and compliance management.
Michael has worked in the financial services industry for over 27 years. With his experience in compliance dating back to roles with Lend Lease and MLC, Michael has extensive knowledge around the regulations for financial planning, life insurance, securities and consumer protection and this gives him the capacity to interpret these regulations as well as develop processes for their implementation.
With his intricate knowledge of compliance issues, Michael’s skill is in the development of practices designed to monitor activities to ensure compliance to these regulations.
Michael is the Head of the Compliance division of Paragem Partners.
Peter Cashel
Peter enjoys industry wide regard for his knowledge and advice as a leading authority on compliance and regulatory issues. He has a thorough understanding of the Corporations Act and Corporations Regulations, best practice standards and the risks associated with non-compliance by industry participants.
Peter was a senior investigator with the Australian Securities & Investments Commission for nine years where his role included ensuring compliance by participants in the Financial Planning and Futures industries. Prior to joining ASIC Peter was a trader on the floor of the Sydney Futures Exchange for 13 years.
As a senior compliance consultant with Paragem Partners, Peter’s role includes assisting clients prepare and lodge Australian Financial Services licence applications, licensee reviews and assisting new licensees establish compliant businesses.
Peter is also a regular speaker on regulatory issues at industry conferences and professional development days.
Terrence Snape

Terrence has extensive corporate and public service experience in Compliance and Governance having commenced his career in the Australian Securities Commission in 1989. During his time with the ASC he gained experience managing what was the NSW Dealers licensing team. His background encompasses working with the regulator in the assessment and suitability of what are today termed Australian Financial Services Licensees and Authorised Representatives. Terrence also played an integral role in the development of a number of ASIC policies that have been used as a base for the present AFS legislation.
After leaving ASIC, Terrence worked as a senior compliance manager within the Sealcorp group where he had responsibility for the eastern seaboard states.
As a senior compliance consultant with Paragem Partners, Terrence’s role includes assisting clients to obtain AFS Licenses, ongoing Licensee Reviews, Authorised Rep reviews and ongoing assistance and coaching with day to day compliance activity. Terrence is well credentialed in practical compliance advice and speaks as a senior manager on behalf of the company at public forums.
Julie Milne

Julie has worked in the financial services industry since 1986, assisting a number of large organisations in developing their client services, education and professional development areas. Julie’s passion to develop high quality professional programs and education services that meet the needs of business and legislative requirements has been a driving force throughout her career.
Prior to joining Paragem Partners Julie was the Head of Education for Zurich Financial Services Australia, a role which encompassed establishing a learning and development function within the Life business, including a framework for continuing professional development and creating education services and material for Zurich’s staff and affiliated adviser groups.
A comprehensive understanding of the financial services environment, products and legislation, along with her experience as a facilitator of personal and professional development programs makes Julie a versatile resource.
